You may have heard about the many benefits of jade rollers, but these findings aren’t new. Jade rolling has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for hundred of years, but has only recently picked up steam in mainstream culture.

Curious to know the benefits of using a jade roller? Read on:

Reduce Puffiness

Through jade rolling, the lymphatic system can be gently stimulated and assisted with removing unwanted elements and extra water from the body. This aids in reducing puffiness, and can naturally create contours on the face.

Soothe and Relax the Face If You’re Feeling Stressed

Since jade is cool to the touch by nature, jade rolling can ease tension and decrease inflammation. Jade has also been believed in Chinese medicine to balance ‘chi’ and draw out negative energy in the individual.

Brighten the Skin and Promote Blood Circulation

Using a jade roller can also brighten your complexion by boosting blood circulation. The rolling motion stimulates the blood vessels beneath the skin and can give your face a noticeable glow.

How to Use a Jade Roller

Using a jade roller is simple, and can be done once in the morning and once before bedtime for best results.

After applying moisturizer, roll the jade roller upwards, first from the neck, then up to the face and forehead. Remember to work up and outward, versus up and down.

The wider end of the roller can be used for your chin, cheeks, neck, and forehead, while the smaller end can be used carefully around the eye area.

I do this for about five to seven minutes in the morning, and about 10 minutes before bedtime. It’s a simple and fun way to practice some self-care while revitalizing my skin and overall feeling of wellness!
